Is there an easy way to check what sector size the underlying disk
is using? Maybe we could add a check (or better, auto-adapt) at the
appropriate place?

p.s. I have the console kdb working. I've folded it in so that the
NEC, IBM, and serial drivers can co-exist cleanly.
