Hi,
My own interest has pretty much moved on to MMU-less Forth-based
environments (www.forthos.org). vsta.quackerhead.com was an effort to
move forward with a branch of my last release, but it doesn't seem to
have much going on, either. Really, with multi-chip modules, cell
processors, mongo-gigahertz CPU's... the question is how to increase
software productivity and reliability in a fundamental way. While I
still believe microkernels are a better way to build OS's than monolithic
ones, I've also come to believe that neither is relevant to the underlying
quest for productivity and reliability.
I should also quickly add that neither is Forth. I'm using it simply
because I have some experimental software, and it's just unbelievably
easy to make a box do what you want when it's plain old Forth running on
the raw machine.
I know, not much of a morale boost. This way you can be pretty sure I'm
telling the truth, though. :->

Andy Valencia
