Newbie Problem -- I hope

I am having a problem booting vsta for the first time. The only modification
I make was to edit 'boot.lst' is use 'cam' instead of 'wd'.

Anyway, just after the various modules are loaded I get the following
message:

        syslog: error: CAM
        syslog: error: can't register name
        syslog: error:

then the system hangs.

Any suggestions..??
