Dave indicates that he has seen the DOS server dying. This would do in
any process using the filesystem. Could you repeat this, but in /vsta?
The DOS root directory is a special case (due to the DOS filesystem's
evolution) and is (in hindsight) much less tested than the "usual" DOS
subdirectory code.
