cache control primitives

Hi,

I don't see any primitives for flushing/invalidating the processor
cache. Are there cache control functions available to device drivers
that do DMA? Or are cache control functions not necessary because:

        1) the VSTa kernel handles this automatically

        2) not needed for the 386 based PC's.
