Nope, now it works just fine :)

Kristoffer has updated the vstafs grup patch to the newest version of gnu
grub (0.5.96.1), so we can even boot from the vstafs partition now. We're
going to send the patch to the main grub developers so they might include
it in coming releases of grub.

Until then you can download at:
http://www.jpl.nu/~erik/vsta/grub-0.5.96.1.vstafs.patch.gz

after you have patched it you have to run automake and autoconf so the
makefiles are updated.
