mkshlib mysteries

I've been trying to rebuild the shared libraries, and I
can't seem to get mkshlib to work. At first, it would
always Exit 11. Then, I get

Already building library 'PhH'
perm

I do a quick scan of the source and find out that curlib
is being used uninitialized, so a put a curlib = 0 in
and now I get

vsta$ mkshlib ld.db libc.db
Library ld.a @ 0x60000000
/tmp/shl360: no entry
perm

This is under vstafs, so I'm guessing that the PhH
problem has to do with the non-zeroed BSS coming
from ld.

Any ideas?
